Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel Assignment

Unit Profile

• Department: Peri Anesthesia
• Unit: 19-bed Pre-op/Same Day Surgery and 12-bed Phase I PACU (both required)
• Trauma Level: Level III
• Shift: Variable between 5:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Approximately one every 5-6 weeks
• Call Requirements: Yes
• Patient Ratios: Average 2:1
• Patient Population: All ages (pediatric and adult)
• EHR Systems: Surginet-Cerner, Omnicell

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Minimum 2 years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Pediatric PACU experience
• Trauma experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications

Preferred Experience

• Trauma Level II experience
• Teaching hospital experience
• Previous charge nurse experience
• Experience with Cerner EHR
• Experience with bariatric surgeries (gastric bypass, sleeve)
• Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Pacemaker insertion and post-cath lab procedures
• Extubation, intubation, and airway management including LMA/ET
• Experience with pre/post cath lab, endoscopy, and interventional radiology procedures
