Required Qualifications

RN license
BLS certification
NRP certification
Driver’s license required at submittal

Schedule and Assignment Details

12-hour night shifts
Weekend requirement: every third weekend
Holiday rotation: major and minor holidays rotate every 3 years
Orientation: 2 unit-specific shifts
RNs are required to titrate drips
Charge nurse is present each shift and takes an assignment
May voluntarily float to other departments as a sitter or tasker, and may also float to another campus for OB floors

Unit Information

14 L&D beds
Common patient types include intrauterine pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and water births
Common titratable or set-rate medications include Pitocin, magnesium, insulin, antihypertensives, and hemorrhage medications
1 OB tech per shift
Staffing follows AWHONN standards

Additional Notes

Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius
Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity
RTO must be submitted upfront, up to 7 days per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved
There is an open-book pass/fail exam during orientation, and a 90% score is required to continue
