Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• 48-hour guarantee
• Every other weekend
• Holidays if needed

Unit / Float Scope

• Float pool covers all inpatient units based on competency:

  • ICU
  • Step-down
  • Medical/surgical
• Telemetry is present on the unit
• Monitor techs are available
• CVU reads its own strips

Required Qualifications

• RN
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• Med/Surg background
• Driver’s license with current permanent address

Preferred

• Step-down experience

Clinical Details

• RN titration of drips is required in step-down areas only
• Common patient types include cardiac, ortho/neuro, surgical, and medical patients
• Common titratable/set-rate drips include heparin, Cardizem, nitro, cardene, insulin, dobutamine, dopamine, activase, esmolol, lidocaine, lobatelol, primacore, procanimide, agrostat, and verapamil
• CPAP and BiPAP can be used on all units
• Ventilators are in ICU
• Chronic trach vents can go to step-down

Staffing / Operations

• No call
• Standby may be required if census is low
• Daily assignments are obtained by calling the staffing office
• Nurse aides are available
• Charge nurse coverage is available Monday through Friday on day shift
• House supervisor coverage is available 24/7

Orientation

• 3 to 4 shifts

Dress Code

• Royal Blue
