Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Intermediate Care (2 years of experience)
• Intermediate Care experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Role Summary

• RN for the Intermediate Care Unit

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act
• Document according to standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care based on individualized patient needs and physician or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of patients’ longitudinal plan of care
• Use critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience, and escalate appropriately through the chain of command
