Cardiopulmonary Therapist (Contract)

Location: Herrin, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Night shift, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Required certifications:

  • RRT
  • Illinois State License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program - Maternal Health Care (NRP-MHC)
• Education: Associate’s degree required

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Role Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans within a multidisciplinary team
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients and/or responsible parties regarding respiratory disease processes, interventions, and discharge instructions
• Accept reassignment to other units as needed
• Share clinical knowledge with staff and students; serve as a clinical practice role model
• Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care
• Provide respiratory care as ordered by physicians, maintaining communication with medical and nursing staff

Additional Information

• Must maintain BLS certification
