Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Care Unit

Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM start)
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

• 30-bed Cardiovascular Unit providing medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care
• Patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients
• Patients are generally medium to high acuity with complex cardiac diagnoses and co-morbidities
• Common patient conditions include cardiac diagnoses, pre/post cardiac artery bypass surgery, carotid endarterectomy, acute myocardial infarction (MI), post pacemaker insertion, arrhythmia detection, congestive heart failure (CHF), pneumonia, and similar disease processes
• Patient-to-nurse ratio does not exceed 4:1
• May float to other units including Medical/Surgical as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Experience in Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic charting system
• Successful completion of at least one prior travel assignment

Additional Information

• Must be a W-2 employee of the staffing agency
• Flexibility to float between Critical Care and Medical/Surgical units as needed
