Nursing Contract Opportunity - Med/Surg Night Shift

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift
• Unit: 25-bed Med/Surg unit (11 private rooms, 7 semi-private)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:

  • Days: 5:1
  • Nights: 5-6:1 (occasionally 1:1 total care patients)
• Patient Population:

  • Primarily stroke patients (non-TPA)
  • Comfort care/hospice patients
  • Post-operative patients (amputations, drains, chest tubes, feeding tubes)
  • Patients requiring heparin drips, wound care, altered mental status care, CIWA protocol, acute kidney injury (AKI), dialysis, and COPD exacerbations

Requirements

• Recent travel nursing experience preferred
• Med/Surg experience required
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system
• Stroke certification (NIHSS) preferred
• Ability to work three 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday
• Must be available to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Orientation

• One 8-hour day for onboarding modules, policies, and required tasks
• Up to two 12-hour orientation shifts on the floor

• Candidates must be able to "hit the ground running" with minimal supervision
