Role
Sleep technologist providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including in-center and home sleep apnea testing (HSAT), diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and patient/family education and support.
Location
Urbana, Illinois
Schedule
- 4-10 hour nights
- Rotating shifts
Contract Length
13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience as a polysomnographer
- Polysomnographer experience within the last year
- Associate's degree in polysomnographic technology or completion of a certificate program in polysomnographic technology
- Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
- American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM)
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
- Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience with sleep disorders
- Experience with sleep apnea testing
- Experience with positive airway pressure (PAP) interface fitting
- Knowledge of patient safety
- Experience with sleep related therapeutic interventions

Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify departmental orders, insurance, and prior authorization
- Prepare patients for testing and perform PAP interface fitting, desensitization, and education
- Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events using accepted guidelines
- Perform equipment and physiologic calibrations, cleaning, disinfection, and quality control
- Follow MSLT and MWT procedural protocols
- Perform ancillary testing including oximetry, actigraphy, and home sleep apnea testing
