Monitor Technician I

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Patient Care Support
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Monitor telemetry setups on patients under general supervision.
  • Responsible for monitoring patients once attached to telemetry units by nursing staff.
  • Check for accurate date/time printout on rhythm strips and provide daily printouts.
  • Maintain appropriate alarm settings for each patient.
  • Assist in troubleshooting monitor equipment.
  • Alert staff when a patient is in crisis.
  • Perform ECGs as needed.
  • Maintain supplies for the monitor area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Monitor Technician, with experience within the last year.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Prior travel experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretation and performing ECG tracings is helpful.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships with staff.

  • Prior travel experience is indicated as relevant.
