Job Opportunity: Step Down Registered Nurse - Nights

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Shift Details

• Unit: Step Down
• Shift: Nights
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Weekend Requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
• Floating: Yes, may float to lower acuity floors within scope

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
• Must have recent bedside experience within the last 6 months
• Experience with ventilators, titration of vasopressors, sedation medications, insulin drips, trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Pending license accepted

Schedule & Other Requirements

• Locals not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
• No first-time travelers accepted
• No on-call required
• Block scheduling not accommodated

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Step Down nursing, including 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• PCU experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Recent bedside experience within the last 6 months
• Experience with ventilators (vents) and titrating vasopressors

Additional Notes

• Must be able to titrate vasopressors, sedation meds, insulin drips, and manage advanced monitoring devices
• Must be willing to float to other units as needed within scope
• Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year
• Employment application and skills checklist must be completed and uploaded prior to start
