Registered Nurse – Endoscopy

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Dual role: Preoperative nurse (IV initiation, assessment, patient education) and circulating nurse in the endoscopy suite
  • Patient ratios:
    • Preoperative: 1:3
    • Endoscopy circulating nurse: 1:1
  • Float between like units required
  • On-call: Not required
  • Block schedule accommodation: Yes
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in District of Columbia
  • Minimum 2 years of endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
  • One completed travel nursing assignment
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers not accepted (prior travel experience required)
  • Candidate must complete facility-specific forms including new hire paperwork, position description acknowledgement, and any applicable vaccine declination or exemption forms
  • Parking and transportation details should be planned in advance for first day
  • Candidate must be prepared to float between similar units as needed
