Registered Nurse – Step-Down Unit (PCU)

Location: Auburn, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Summary

Seeking a Step-Down Registered Nurse with recent experience in step-down care. The unit cares for patients with cardiac and respiratory conditions including congestive heart failure, post-heart catheterization, vascular procedures, respiratory failure requiring BiPAP/CPAP/Vapotherm, and cardiac dysrhythmias.


Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • PICC line management
  • Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
  • Cardiac drip titration
  • Neurological care including acute stroke (CVA) management
  • Respiratory and thoracic care including BiPAP/CPAP management
  • Assistance with chest tube insertion and removal
