Job Opportunity: PCU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

Must have 2 years recent ICU experience.
Must have 1 year of Level 1 trauma experience in a high acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
Experience required in PCU, Medical/Surgical, and Telemetry units.
Will float between ICU and other PCU units.
Must possess strong critical thinking skills and be able to respond rapidly to patient needs.
No first-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience is required.
Orientation provided for other transitional units.
Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year.
Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients.
Minimum 2 years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience.
Experience in Medical/Surgical (Med Surg) and Telemetry units.
Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
