Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Cath Lab Tech with expertise in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. This is a travel/contract position with a 4x10 hour day shift schedule (7:00 AM - 6:00 PM). The role includes call responsibilities and floating to sister pre/post units as needed.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist
  • Cath Lab Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
  • Proficient in scrub procedures maintaining sterile field
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • ARRT CI (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Cardiovascular Interventional) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) certification

Preferred Skills

  • Hybrid OR experience
  • Special Procedures such as ASD Closures, Cardiac Implant Closure Device
  • Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Laser-assisted procedures
  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
  • Ventricular Assist Device Insertion
  • Watchman device procedures
  • Angioplasty
  • Upper and Lower Extremity Angiography
  • Equipment setup and room circulator experience

Work Details

  • Patient ratio: 1:3
  • Shift: 10 hours, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Call: At least one night per week and every 4th weekend on call rotation
  • Float: May be required to float to sister pre/post units
  • Weekend: On-call rotation every 4-5 weeks
  • Unit systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
  • Scrubs provided
  • Orientation: As needed
  • Scheduling: Determined by manager

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Background checks including local, federal, national criminal databases, sex offender search, and education verification for highest degree specific to profession.
  • Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
  • Physical exam: Within 1 year of start; if past positive TB, physical within 30 days and updated annually.
  • Fit mask testing: N95 fit test within 1 year or completion of PAPR training (not required for non-clinical).
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines with boosters if negative/equivocal)
    • Hepatitis B titer or facility-specific declination if negative/equivocal
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 - 10/31)
  • TB testing: PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 1 year; if positive, clear chest x-ray within 5 years required.
  • References: 2 professional references within 3 years for travel/allied/per diem acute care candidates.

  • Radiation Badge (required for Cath Lab Techs)
  • Corp ID setup and I-Learn login within 24 hours of receiving credentials
  • Photo for badge (passport style, white background, business attire) required immediately after signing contract
