Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: West Hollywood, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Must work a 4th shift every 3rd week
Weekend work required
On-call required on a 6-week rotation (2 times in-house or on-call)
No floating required
No scheduling requests accommodated

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Strong experience in General, Orthopedics, Spine, Trauma, and Plastics nursing
Must be able to circulate in the Operating Room

Certifications & Competencies

Basic Life Support (BLS)
Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required by profession)
Competency Exam (required by profession/specialty)
Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (time sensitive; multiple attempts allowed; on-site exam during orientation)

Health & Safety Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
Fit test within 1 year, updated annually (N95 or equivalent masks)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; if history of positive TB, additional documentation required
Required immunizations/vaccinations:
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella)
- Hepatitis B vaccine series, titer, or declination
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (or proof of disease history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
Drug screening panel within 1 year (excluding Marijuana/THC)

Background & Documentation

7-year criminal background check within 6 months of start, updated annually
Education verification of highest level completed
Government-issued photo ID required
Professional references: 2 required, at least 1 supervisory

Additional Requirements

Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, centered face, light background, no filters or accessories)
Must complete facility-specific acknowledgements and policies (e.g., Code of Conduct, Job Hazard Analysis, Social Media Policy)
Fire safety card required within first 6 months (course provided onsite during orientation)
Pass/fail EKG and medication tests during orientation
Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers accepted
