Wound Care Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide specialized wound and ostomy care in a clinic setting focused on chronic, non-healing, or slow-healing wounds.
  • Patient population includes those with diabetic wounds, pressure wounds, vascular wounds, non-healing surgical wounds, and ostomy care needs.
  • Services include wound evaluation and treatment, negative pressure wound therapy, compression therapy, biological dressings/skin substitutes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy coordination, and ostomy education and follow-up.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team of specialists to optimize wound healing and patient education.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • No weekends, holidays, or on-call required

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license for Nebraska (pending license accepted but must be in hand before start; if not, start date booked six weeks out)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
  • BLS certification required
  • EPIC electronic charting experience required
  • Must be 100% nicotine-free during assignment
  • Must wear facility-specific scrubs (Steele gray scrubs with logo)

Additional Requirements

  • Candidate must live more than 100 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background checks including criminal, education verification, and state-specific registry searches required
  • Drug screening within 60 days of start and updated annually
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tdap within last 10 years
    • Annual TB testing or chest x-ray if history positive
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Flu vaccine preferred (documentation or declination required)
    • COVID vaccine preferred (medical/religious exemption or declination accepted)
  • Physical exam and fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
  • Annual skills checklist required
  • Two professional references from the last 2 years required

Facility Notes

  • 100% nicotine-free environment
  • Parking permit available (~$55/month) or daily parking rates apply
  • Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required prior to start
