Job Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Pomona, New Jersey
• Day shift: alternating 6:30 AM–5:00 PM and 9:00 AM–7:30 PM
• 13-week assignment
• 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• CVOR (1 year of experience)
• CVOR experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Cerner

Schedule and Call

• On-call required: 2 forty-eight-hour weekends and 14 weekday shifts in 6 weeks
• Weeknight call is Monday–Friday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Weekend call runs from Saturday 7:00 AM to Monday 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement: refer to on-call
• Travelers may be required to make up missed shifts during the same week or at the end of the assignment

Work Setting

• CVOR, General OR, and Hybrid OR
• 13 OR rooms
• Floating may be required between campuses as needed

Clinical Experience

• Cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and general surgery cases
• Robotic surgery scrub experience is a plus
• Infection control experience included in general surgery responsibilities

Orientation and Screening

• 6-day orientation with a required return the following Monday for Day 6
• Pass/fail in-house skills assessment during orientation
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Work eligibility verification required
• Background check required
• Education verification required
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start
• Drug test required within 60 days of start
• TB screening required
• Tdap required within 10 years of start
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity documentation required
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• References required: 2 current references from a supervisor or educator
• Work history documentation required for 2 consecutive years prior to start
