Oncology RN Travel Contract
Overview
- Travel/contract RN position in New Orleans, Louisiana
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- 36 hours per week
- First-time travelers welcome
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
- Float requirement
- Every other weekend coverage
Unit / Patient Population
- Hematology
- Medical oncology
- Bone marrow transplant
- Gynecologic and surgical oncology
- 7-bed positive pressure wing for bone marrow transplant and acute leukemia patients
- Bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Oncology experience with 2 years of experience
- Oncology experience within the last year
- Hematology experience
- Surgical Oncology experience
- Bone Marrow Transplant experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic
- Competency exam completed within 1 year of start with a minimum score of 80%

- Emergency preparedness checklist during hurricane season
Work Conditions / Expectations
- May be assigned to an emergency team during emergency events and may be expected to remain at the facility until the event passes or serve on the relief team
- Traveler must be comfortable with emergency-event assignment expectations
