Pharmacist Inpatient

Job Overview

Specialty: Pharmacy
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Contract length: 13 weeks
Setting: Inpatient pharmacy
Schedule: 5x8 rotating schedule, weekdays with some weekends; every 3rd weekend
Overnight pattern: 7 nights on, 7 nights off
Longer assignment options are available through January 9, 2027, but are not required
Travelers must work two of the three winter holidays

Required Qualifications

Valid Pharmacist license in Virginia
Pharmacist (1 year of experience)
Pharmacist experience within the last year
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Experience in an Inpatient setting
IV admixture/IV pharmacy experience
Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) experience
Antibiotic management
Drug interaction review
Experience with Epic

Required Skills

Medication order entry
Medication order verification

Preferred Experience

Previous travel experience
Chemotherapy experience
Anticoagulation management
Pharmacokinetic dosing
Renal dosing
