Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Ventura, California
• Start date: 10/20
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
• Hours per week: 36
• Unit census: 18
• Unit beds: 21
• Patient population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
• Weekend coverage: Every other weekend
• Float scope: Tele
• May be required to float to Santa Paula Hospital if needed, though this is very infrequent

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry - on the unit monitoring
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• IV Insulin Protocols
• Feeding tube care and management
• Pre/Post hemodialysis management and Renal failure care
• Accessing Ports
• Blood Product Administration
• Central line care and management
• Peripheral line care and management
• Phlebotomy
• PICC line management
• Starting IVs
• Heparin protocols
• Managing cardiac drips without titration
• Managing vasoactive drips without titration
• PCA
• CVA care
• Pre/post neurosurgery care
• Spinal cord injury care
• Traumatic brain injury care
• Trauma and total joints experience
• Surgical drains
• Chest tubes with Emerson/Pleur-evac
• External CPAP/BIPAP
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Nasal cannula
• Non-invasive airway management
• Oxygen face masks
• Tracheostomy management
• Advanced EKG exam prior to start

Preferred

• CPI or MAB
• TNCC/TCAR
