Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)
Location: Englewood, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Evening (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Must work every other weekend and holidays
- EPIC experience required
- Floating assignments possible within specialty clusters, including high-risk respiratory/COVID units and nearby campuses (within 15 miles)
- Employer reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts during the contract and to cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice without penalty
- Not eligible for employee incentives
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, with ED experience within the last year
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications (must be current and AHA-approved unless otherwise noted):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or AVADE or Calm Every Storm
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Health and Background Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 years, indicating fitness for duty and free of communicable diseases
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray; if past positive TB, additional documentation and annual questionnaire required
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity (titer or vaccination) for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series, immune titer, or declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months prior to documentation due date; marijuana panel included; random drug screening during orientation week may be required
- Respiratory Safety Clearance within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal background check (SSN trace, national and county checks, sex offender registry)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Fingerprinting not required for this role/unit
Documentation and Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- E-Verify completed prior to start
- Proof of name change if applicable (legal documentation)
- Education verification (Primary Source Verified)
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years, including 1 manager/supervisor/charge RN; employment verification accepted if references unavailable
- Current resume or employment application required
- Skills checklist updated within 1 year prior to documentation due date and annually
- Medical questionnaire for respiratory protection must be submitted prior to orientation
- Candidate agreement fully completed prior to documentation due date
