Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Work Setting: Inpatient, Emergency Room (ER), and Outpatient
- Shift: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM (4 days of 10 hours each)
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Yes, within scope to other buildings on campus
- Daily caseload: Varies
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist within the last year
- Certification/Licensure:
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Experience with Siemens MRI equipment required
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit test for N95 mask (O&M Halyard FLUIDSHIELD or 3M Aura 1870+) within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or vaccination series)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or documented history with chest x-ray as applicable
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31) or medical/religious exemption; documentation must be uploaded by deadline
- Color blindness test required prior to start
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
Orientation and Facility Specifics
- Orientation modules (approx. 2 hours) must be completed prior to start; access provided after clearance
- First Day Instructions (FDI) and OurDay platform used for document uploads and training
- Passport-style badge photo required by Wednesday before start date
- Parking: Free nights and weekends; $20 one-time parking pass fee for other times
- Facility uses Epic for charting
- Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation

- Radius rule: 60 miles
- Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Proof of 2 clinical references required
- Employment history verification of last 3 clinical employers required
- All licensure and certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start date
