Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Location: Oxford, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shifts, Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
Hours per Week: 36 hours


Job Requirements

  • Valid Ultrasound Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all candidates (AHA and ARC preferred)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required prior to start; must be maintained throughout assignment (AHA and ARC preferred)

Background and Compliance

  • 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal/extension
  • Education verification required; diploma acceptable if education cannot be verified
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Employment application/resume required
  • Skills checklist must be updated annually

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Initial physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 6 months prior to start; for past positives, chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start (declination acceptable)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific medical/religious exemption required during flu season (September 18 – March 31)

Drug Testing

  • 9-panel drug screen within the last 12 months (instant acceptable)

Documentation and Training

  • Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service
  • I9 attestation and proof of E-Verify required
  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required

Additional Notes

  • Facility accepts agency-branded job descriptions
  • Religious and medical exemption forms for flu vaccine must be completed and approved if applicable
