Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location
- Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type
- Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Day shift, 5x8 hours)
- Rotating weekends every 6 weeks
- Required to work 50% of holidays during the contract
- Ability to work call shifts and during inclement weather required
Job Requirements
- Radiology Technician with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- X-Ray Technician experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Certifications and Licenses
- AART (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC Provider card)
- State of Missouri Radiology Tech license (primary source verification required within 60 days of start)
- Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and international checks if applicable
- MO Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or MO Caregiver search must be on file within 60 days before starting
- Negative 7-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Immunizations and health screenings (see Health Requirements below)
Experience
- Must have prior experience in Radiology specialty with ER, ICU, and OR exposure
- Years of experience not explicitly stated; however, prior experience in these areas is mandatory
Health and Immunization Requirements (Must be initiated within 48 hours of signing)
- Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year; chest x-ray if positive TB history
- Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved medical/religious exemption
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines (at least 1 after 1980)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer; boosters required if low titer; no declinations accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Fit mask test within 1 year (3M 1870+, 1860R, 1860S, or 9205); not required for Medical Technologist, Pharmacy Tech, or Sterile Processing Tech
Additional Requirements
- Professional references: 2 required within the last 2 years (not necessarily supervisors)
- Resume must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days
- Ability to work full shifts, assigned weekends, holidays, and take call
- Photo for badge (new candidates only): forward-facing, head and shoulders, neutral background, no filters
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to work at assigned location for the full contract term
- Ability to work substantial portion of assigned shifts
- Ability to work rotating weekends and at least half of holidays during contract
This position requires a highly active individual comfortable with physical demands and working in a 24/7 healthcare environment. Prior experience in ER, ICU, and OR settings is essential. Compliance with all licensing, certification, background, and health requirements is mandatory for employment.
