Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, Days
- Shift Times:
- Pre-op: 06:30 - 17:00
- Intra-Procedural: 07:00 - 17:30
- PACU: 07:30 - 18:00 / 08:00 - 18:30
- Weekend Requirement:
- Weekday on-call once per week (17:30 - 07:00)
- Weekend on-call every 6th or 7th weekend (Monday and Friday evenings 17:30 - 07:00, Saturday and Sunday 24 hours 07:00 - 07:00)
- Float Requirement: Must float per competency within GI Suite
- Patient Age Group: Pediatrics and Adults
- Department Ratios:
- Pre-op 1:2
- Intra-procedural 1:1
- PACU 1:2
- Able to function in Pre-op, Intra-Procedural, and PACU settings
- Work Setting Skills Required: Pre/Post Procedure, Starting and maintaining IVs, Inpatient care
- Work Setting Skills Preferred: Outpatient Endoscopy center
- Scrubs: Option to wear scrubs or street clothes and change into hospital laundry scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Endoscopy)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required (Endoscopy - pre, intra, and post procedure)
- First-time travelers accepted if experienced in Endoscopy
- Licensure:
- Must have a District of Columbia RN license prior to start date
- Pending DC license accepted at time of submission with proof, but license must be in hand before starting
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Flu vaccine required for all employees
- References: Two positive supervisory references supporting at least two years of experience within the last three years
- Background checks and verifications required (criminal background, education, drug screen, etc.)
- Competency exams required including medication/pharmacology and EKG/dysrhythmia competency as applicable
Additional Requirements
- Physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Flu vaccine (or approved exemption)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella documentation or titer
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual N95 fit test (or client completed on-site if needed)
- Completion of facility-specific modules and orientation prior to start
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
- Must be able to provide proof of pending DC license status at time of application
- Floating within GI Suite based on competency is mandatory
- Flu vaccine is strictly required with limited exemptions
