Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Outpatient

Location: Miami, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 9 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for an outpatient rehabilitation setting. The role involves working Monday through Friday with no weekend or on-call requirements.


Requirements

Licensure & Certification

  • Florida Licensure in Speech Language Pathology (must be valid for the entire assignment)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA), valid for at least 6 months beyond assignment start date

Experience

  • Experience with adult neurological patients (required)
  • Experience in outpatient adult or adult inpatient rehab settings (required)
  • Spanish speaking highly preferred due to patient population

Skills & Abilities

  • Must be able to work independently

Work Schedule

  • Full day schedule, Monday to Friday
  • No weekends or on-call duties

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check including specific Florida counties (Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach)
  • SSN trace, statewide, national criminal, sex offender, and education verification
  • AHCA Level II fingerprinting clearance required prior to start

Health & Immunization

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination required; medical/religious exemptions considered
  • Lab-based 10-panel urine drug test within 45 days of start

Facility Specific

  • Recent photo for badge (plain white background, color, head to mid-chest, no group photos)
  • Completion of annual required education and compliance documents

Additional Notes

  • Candidates living within Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe counties are not eligible
  • License and certifications must be current and valid for the entire contract duration
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
