Job Opportunity: NICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) specialty for a travel contract. The nurse must be able to float to Childbirth Center Units as needed.

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of NICU nursing experience (highest requirement stated)
• Prior travel experience required (at least 1 year travel experience preferred)

Shift Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (06:45 AM - 07:15 PM)
• Start Date: May
• Return to Office (RTO) days: 5 days or less
• No blocked schedules accepted

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Washington state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified, RQI not accepted
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA certified, generally not accepting RQI except on case-by-case basis
• Additional certifications that may be required or preferred (verify with unit):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - preferred for ER RNs

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing and able to float to Childbirth Center Units
• Compliance with background checks covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Social Security number required for processing
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test (QGold, T-SPOT, or 2 PPDs within 1 year) or chest x-ray if positive TB history
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity verification or boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination (year-round requirement)
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Completion of facility-specific modules and training (e.g., Fraud, Waste, Abuse training)
• Must pass competency exams including medication/pharmacology, patient restraints, core competencies, OSHA, and IV therapy/infusion if applicable
• References: Minimum two satisfactory references from previous employers within the last year, including clinical competency and reliability evaluations

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
• Minimum of 3 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, including experience within the last year
• At least one year of total travel nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Experience working with neonate patients
