Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical

Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 9 weeks

Job Requirements

• Certification: BLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable) required for submission
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years recent Medical/Surgical experience
• Education: Accredited degree through ACEN or CCNE required
• Technical Skills: Epic experience within the last year is mandatory and must be documented on the resume
• Work Schedule:

  • Float required
  • No block schedules accepted
  • Return to Office (RTO) requests limited to a maximum of 7 days

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete and provide the following prior to or at onboarding:

Licenses & Verification

• Valid nursing license verified through Nursys within 30 days of start
• Primary source verification of license/certification within 30 days of start
• Social Security Card or Social Security Number confirmation

Health & Immunizations

• Fit Test (N95 mask) within one year of start, updated annually
• Pre-employment physical within one year, confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• COVID-19 vaccine (fully vaccinated required; exemptions reviewed case-by-case)
• MMR: Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted
• Hepatitis B: Titer or complete vaccine series; signed declinations accepted
• Influenza vaccine (required October-April; exemptions require approval)
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results; no declinations accepted
• Varicella: Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted
• Annual TB Questionnaire (Summa form) completed, signed, and dated

Testing & Competency

• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists completed within one year of start and updated annually
• Summa Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics) within 90 days of start, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually

Background & Screening

• Criminal background check (FCRA compliant, 7-year search, SSN trace, nationwide) within 90 days of start
• OIG Search within 90 days of start
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start
• Third-party education verification

Additional Notes

• Candidates must provide a valid government-issued photo ID at submission
• RN Submission Packet checklist must be completed and included with submission
• All required documentation must be current and updated if there is a break in service of 30 days or more
