Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical

Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 07:00 AM – 07:00 PM

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a Medical/Surgical unit.
• Work with primary and team nursing models.
• Must have ACLS, BLS, NIH certification and ability to read basic rhythm strips prior to starting.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York.
• Minimum of 3 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS certification.
• 8 hours of Stroke Training including NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) component.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Valid driver’s license.

Documentation and Onboarding Requirements

• State license verification (within 30 days prior to start).
• Central skills checklist for the assigned unit, updated annually.
• Core competency exams for nursing (must score 80% or higher, updated annually).
• Valid US driver’s license or state ID (not expired).
• Agency background check including national and county criminal searches, FACIS 3 check, SSN address trace, and multiple alias checks (within 30 days of start).
• 9+ panel drug screen excluding marijuana (state law prohibits marijuana testing).
• Central resume documenting all employment and education history for last 7 years with dates and locations.
• Two professional references: one supervisor from last 12 months and one supervisor or peer from last 3 years.
• Employment verification of most recent employer (agency verification accepted).
• Signed and dated job description.
• Various required forms and acknowledgments including code of conduct, sexual harassment acknowledgement, confirmation of assignment, self-study packet and quiz, parking registration, and health personal information form.
• Central color headshot photo (clear, professional, no filters or sunglasses).
• TB questionnaire and Epic questionnaire forms specific to the facility.
• Education mission statement acknowledgment (for initial assignments).

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
