Job Opportunity: Critical Care RN Travel

Location: Fairfield, California
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

As a Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care. Your role includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care based on established nursing models and theories. You will collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote health, comfort, and safety. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing care consistent with interdisciplinary plans and relationship-based care principles.
  • Ongoing assessment of patients’ physical and psychosocial conditions.
  • Developing and modifying individualized care plans.
  • Performing nursing skills and educating patients and families on health needs.
  • Evaluating care effectiveness and adjusting plans accordingly.
  • Safely using medical equipment, instrumentation, and medications.
  • Delegating tasks appropriately and supervising care team members.
  • Advocating for patients’ rights and informed decision-making.
  • Providing culturally competent, age-appropriate, and ethical care within legal standards.
  • Coordinating patient care activities with healthcare professionals.
  • Documenting nursing care per hospital policies and utilizing information systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences and assisting in complaint resolution.
  • Performing physical duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in California
  • Minimum of 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
  • ICU experience within the last year
  • Acute Care experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current certifications in AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Additional Information

  • Must complete annual organizational employment requirements.
  • Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
