OR Registered Nurse Travel Opportunity

Location: Bryan, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• 8-hour day shifts, Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• On-call requirements:

  • One evening per week (3 PM to 7 AM)
  • Two weekend days per month (7 AM to 7 AM)
  • Standard 30-minute response time while on call
• Must be able to float between two campuses approximately 16 minutes apart
• Candidates may be asked to precept as needed
• Call-outs are strongly discouraged and may result in termination

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license appropriate for Texas
• ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 5 years of hospital or OR nursing experience preferred by unit manager
• Candidates with less than 4 years of experience will only be considered if extremely strong with exceptional references
• Must have prior circulating experience in the OR
• Must have robotics experience:

  • Mako robot (Orthopedics)
  • DaVinci robot (General surgery, Urology, Cardiovascular)
• Must have cardiovascular (CV) circulating experience, including CABG cases (scrubbing experience a plus)
• Neuro experience required, especially with craniotomies (frequent after-hours cases)
• Orthopedic experience including trauma, total shoulders, knees, hips, and ORIFs (Mako experience preferred but not mandatory)
• General surgery experience with DaVinci robot for laparoscopic cholecystectomies, colectomies, hernias, open belly, and trauma cases
• Additional specialty experience beneficial:

  • Eyes: Vitrectomies
  • Endoscopy: ERCPs, colonoscopies, EGDs
  • Cystoscopy: Stent placements, TURPs

Additional Notes

• Candidates must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any related health system facility within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
• Must be able to start in June
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Summary

This is a 13-week travel assignment for an experienced OR RN with strong circulating skills and robotics experience. The role requires flexibility to float between campuses and handle a variety of surgical specialties with on-call responsibilities during evenings and weekends. Candidates should have a solid hospital background, especially in cardiovascular, neuro, ortho, and general surgery cases involving robotic assistance.
