Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer (Travel/Contract)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri

Job Details

  • Shift: Monday through Friday, 5x8 hour shifts, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • On-Call: Every fifth week on call and every fifth weekend (On-call required)
  • Daily Caseload: 7-8 patients per tech
  • Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs; may float to sister facilities if needed
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • Pending State License Accepted: Yes
  • RTO Restrictions: One segment approved per contract
  • Guaranteed Hours:
    • 36 hours/week for 3-12 hour shifts
    • 48 hours/week for 4-12 hour shifts
    • 40 hours/week for all other shifts

  • Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA certification required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA certification required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA certification required (facility-specific requirements apply)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): AHA or AAP certification as applicable
  • IV Certification: Required for LPN/LVN if applicable (Missouri facilities)
  • Other Certifications: May include Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) if applicable
  • Primary Source Verification: Required for all professional licenses (NURSYS verification for Missouri licenses)

Compliance & Background Checks

  • Criminal background check within 6 months required (7-year search including statewide and nationwide checks)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG quarterly checks required
  • Education verification of highest related education required before start
  • Fingerprinting required for Illinois long-term care or rehab assignments (not required for Missouri)
  • State-specific searches and registries as applicable (Missouri and Illinois)
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include comprehensive drug panel and be valid throughout assignment
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start required
  • Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tdap vaccine or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season

  • HIPAA Acknowledgement signed prior to start (annual update)
  • Latex Allergy Questionnaire (annual update)
  • Confidentiality Form (annual update)
  • Regulatory Compliance Education completed annually via online training
  • TB Questionnaire annually
  • Hand Hygiene, Fingernail, and Dress Code policies reviewed and acknowledged prior to start
  • Orientation modules required for RNs and LVNs (completed prior to start)

Additional Notes

  • Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
  • Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually
  • Employment application required and must be uploaded for facility review
