Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Bellevue, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Start Dates: March 16 or April 4
• Schedule Requirements:

  • No block schedule; must be flexible
  • Return to Office (RTO) must be 5 days or less
  • Must be available to work at least 2 of 3 holidays if scheduled
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D) with floating to Post-Partum as needed
• Experience Required: Minimum 3 years in Labor and Delivery nursing
• Clinical Skills:

  • Experience with Magnesium Drips
  • Experience with C-Sections
  • Ability to float to Post-Partum unit when needed
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Washington state
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified, RQI not accepted
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified, RQI not accepted
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for L&D and Mother-Baby RNs; AHA certified, RQI generally not accepted
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Check unit requirements (may be required)
• Competencies:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum 85%)
  • Patient restraints competency exam
  • Core annual competencies (Parts I, II, III) with minimum 85% score
  • OSHA mandatory training annually
  • IV Therapy/Infusion exam if working in IV therapy
• Background Checks:

  • Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • State and federal searches including sex offender registry
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date
  • Immunizations or titers for:

    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly preferred)
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (or facility-specific declination)
    • Varicella
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (QGold, T-SPOT, or 2 PPDs)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required year-round
• References: Minimum two satisfactory references from previous employers within the last year, including evaluation of clinical competency and reliability (from manager, supervisor, or charge RN)
• Additional Requirements:

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Social Security number verification (no physical card required)
  • Employment application copy
  • Compliance with facility-specific policies including code of conduct, confidentiality, appearance/dress code, internet usage, and fraud/waste/abuse training

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Flexibility and ability to work night shifts and holidays are essential.
• Candidates must be prepared to complete assigned orientation modules promptly after start.
