Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts plus on-call
  • On-call response time: 30 minutes
  • Scrub experience required
  • Neuro Interventional Radiology (IR) experience is a plus but not required
  • Backfill assignment for approximately 13 weeks

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required
  • Candidates with 1 year of experience must have both neuro and scrub experience
  • Prior travel experience is required

Certifications & Licenses

  • Active Louisiana State License or Compact License required upon submission
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (verify with program management)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Current/valid Driver’s License or government photo ID (color copy)
  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Education verification of highest level completed
  • Sex offender search within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months indicating good health
  • Fit mask testing within 1 year of start (N95 masks accepted)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap required for certain units)
    • TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 12 months) or chest X-ray if positive
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination/exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates may be assigned to an Emergency Team during events and must be willing to stay on-site as directed
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required for some specialties; not required for ICU
  • Competency exam specific to specialty required annually
  • Color blind testing required for lab staff
  • Photo for badge: recent, full-color, passport-style photo without filters or obstructions

Important Notes

  • Candidates must be comfortable with emergency event assignments and on-call expectations
  • Prior travel experience is explicitly required for this role
  • Neuro IR experience is beneficial but not mandatory if other experience criteria are met
