Travel/contract role in Anchorage, Alaska
Start: ASAP
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
Hours per week: 48

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Alaska
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience
Pediatrics experience

Schedule and Assignment Details

Weekend requirement: every other weekend
On-call not required
Floating may be required within scope, including NICU and Pediatrics
Unit uses block scheduling
First-time travelers accepted

Clinical Setting

Acute care hospital
PICU ratio: 1:2
Pediatric floor ratio: 1:4
Ventilated patients are usually 1:1
Charge nurse typically has no patients
CNA and med clerk support available

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements

Mandatory pre-boarding and onboarding tasks must be completed before start
Background check, references, skills checklist, physical exam, TB screening, drug screen, vaccine/immunity documentation, fit testing, and other standard health/compliance items are required
COVID vaccination or approved medical exemption is required for patient-facing roles
Flu vaccination or approved medical exemption is required during flu season
AVADE workplace violence prevention training is required within 12 months of start and must be renewed annually

Cerner is used for charting
Parking is free
Scrub color: navy; L&D/OR scrubs are provided
