Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Dubois, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Rotating shifts on a 6-week schedule: approximately 3 weeks day shifts and 3 weeks night shifts, depending on unit needs
• Shift hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Float required (ability to work in multiple units)
• First-time travel nurses are welcome
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted
• Scrub colors: Navy blue or White

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, with Telemetry experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Certifications & Competencies

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
• Competency exams required as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care units; annual certification required
• Comprehensive Crisis Management certification accepted as MAB/CPI equivalent for applicable units

Background & Screening Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide, sex offender, and Pennsylvania statewide (Patch Certificate)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification required (transcripts, diplomas, or 3rd party verifications accepted)
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Childline) search within 1 year of start
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start (must be completed in PA)
• 2 professional references within 3 years of hire

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 6 months of start or chest X-ray within 5 years if applicable
• Required vaccinations or positive titers (or facility-specific declination forms) for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
• Tdap vaccination within the past 10 years (declination accepted with form)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Nov-April); mask required if declining through 3/31/2025
• COVID vaccine or facility-specific declination required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Alcohol breathalyzer test generally required within 30 days of start (not required at this location)

Facility Specific Requirements

• Passport-style photo (no filters) for badge
• Completion of facility orientation packet and acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of medical surveillance checklist prior to start
• Completion of bloodborne pathogen quiz prior to start
• Completion of vaccine declination forms if applicable
