Job Opportunity: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Urgent Care

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

  • Work in an Urgent Care setting with some Emergency Room experience preferred
  • Rotating schedule:
    • Monday-Friday: 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM
    • Saturday-Sunday: 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend plus some holidays
  • Floating between units required
  • No scheduling requests accommodated
  • No return to office (RTO) within the first 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Active California LVN license at time of application (no pending licenses)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Room
  • Minimum 2 years overall outpatient nursing experience
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or ARC
    • IV therapy and blood withdrawal certification
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Background check within 6 months including:
    • 7-year county residency check
    • Nationwide criminal search
    • Sex offender search
    • Federal district court search
    • International criminal search if applicable
  • Education verification of highest level completed
  • Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
  • Fit mask test within 1 year (N95 or equivalent respirators)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; additional requirements if history of positive TB
  • Immunizations/vaccinations:
    • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for measles, mumps, rubella
    • Hepatitis B vaccine series, titer, or declination
    • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (or proof of disease history)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
  • Drug screening panel within 1 year (excluding marijuana/THC)
  • Professional references: 2 required, at least 1 supervisory

Competency & Testing Requirements

  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% passing score)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (time sensitive; multiple attempts allowed)
  • Pass/fail EKG assessment during orientation (specific to some units)
  • Medication test during orientation (not pass/fail)
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification verification as applicable

  • Photo for badge must meet strict requirements (passport-style photo, centered face, light background, no filters or accessories)
  • Fire safety training/course required onsite during orientation
  • Candidates must be prepared for mandatory orientation and onboarding processes
