Cath Lab Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Torrance, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with specialized experience in the Cath Lab for a travel/contract position. The role involves recovery of cardiac catheterizations, PCIs, PFO, CTOs, and electrophysiology procedures including pacemakers, BiV, AICD, and Cryo.

Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
• On-call: 1-2 nights per week
• Weekend: 1 weekend every 4-6 weeks
• Floating: Not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in ICU (Intensive Care Unit), ED (Emergency Department), or PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Two supervisory or higher references required within one year of start (one from current/most recent employer, one from second most recent). One reference can be pending at start with approval.
• Current resume or application covering all cities and states lived/worked in the past 7 years; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
• Background checks including SS trace, county searches (last 7 years), nationwide sex offender check, and education verification.
• Primary source verification of CA RN license within 30 days prior to start; renewal plan required if license expires during contract.
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, updated annually (excluding marijuana/THC panel starting 1/1/24).
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start with approved N95 masks (not required for sterile processing techs).
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (if history of positive TB)
  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
  • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination/declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required for 2025-2026 season (no declinations accepted for registry)
  • COVID vaccine or facility-specific declination form
• Mandatory facility-specific trainings and acknowledgments prior to start, including:

• No floating required for this position.
• Candidate must be able to work on-call and weekends as specified.
