Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Patient Population

• Infants to Geriatrics (Primarily adult patients, including pediatric intubated patients)

Shift Details

• Day shift
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Approximately 36 hours per week

Facility & Work Environment

• Level 2 trauma center
• Interventional stroke certified
• Level 3 NICU (regional transport resource)
• Floating required within facility and sister campus as needed
• No call requirements
• Weekend schedule: every other weekend
• Holiday work expectations: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, must work it; if 2, must work both; if 3, must work 2 of them
  Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage non-invasive and conventional ventilation
• Aerosol therapy
• Bedside pulmonary function tests (pulmonary function testing preferred)
• Perform arterial lines and arterial blood gases
• Oxygen management and patient education
• Perform capillary blood gases and draws from lines

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification

Orientation & Compliance

• Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days
• Full compliance with all requirements needed to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length

Required Pre-Employment & Ongoing Documentation

• Background check (must be completed prior to start; includes criminal, sex offender, education verification)
• Education verification or diploma/transcript for RRT
• State license verification (Georgia)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if prior positive TB)
• TB questionnaire (updated annually)
• Drug screen (10-panel) within 60 days of start, negative results required before start
• Immunizations/vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine or declination (required annually during flu season)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
  • TDAP highly recommended but not required
• Competency exams as required (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, color blindness)
• Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
• Work history verification and 2 clinical references required

• Must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
