Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: 1900-0730 (Night Shift)
Schedule: Every other weekend required
Call/Float: No call or float requirement
Job Summary
- Position for Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in District of Columbia
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Work Requirements
- Every other weekend coverage required
- No call or float duties
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the past year, with annual updates as required
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years preferred
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Drug screening within 90 days of start, updated annually (excluding marijuana)
Background and Documentation
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification for highest degree required by position
- Employment history verification with at least 2 years of experience in the past 7 years
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience in the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
Additional Notes
- Orientation and facility-specific modules must be completed prior to start
- Competency exams and other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (not specified for this role)
