Travel Registered Nurse (Med/Surg) - Amarillo, Texas
Job Details
- Discipline: Registered Nurse

- Shift Options: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, nights
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Unit: Med/Surg patient population with centralized telemetry monitoring
- Role Notes: Free floating charge nurse and house discharge nurse roles that float across departments
- Travel Radius: 50 miles
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Required Documentation & Compliance
- I-9 verification
- Driver’s License/State ID
- E-Verify compliance
- 7-year background check (updated annually) including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check, and education verification
- Education verification (highest level)
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Photo for badge
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations except approved medical exemptions)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with follow-up requirements for positive results)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity documentation or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination documentation
- Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (including amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, phencyclidine, propoxyphene)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- TB questionnaire (if applicable)
Additional Requirements
- Complete employment application/resume
- Unit-specific skills checklist (annual)
- 7-year work history verification
- Competency exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology, color blindness, core competencies)
This position offers a travel contract opportunity for experienced Med/Surg RNs with Epic charting skills, night shift availability, and a minimum of 1 year inpatient Med/Surg experience. Prior travel experience is not required.
