Job Opportunity: MRI Tech

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • 1 year of experience required in the specialty
  • Epic experience required
  • First-time travelers not accepted
  • Call required (rotating weekly among staff)
  • Weekend shifts required (rotating weekly)
  • Shift rotation includes:
    • 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
    • 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
    • 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM
    • Monday through Friday with rotating off days Wednesday through Friday
  • Call week runs Wednesday to Wednesday with a mix of 8- and 12-hour shifts including Saturday

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification

Required Qualifications

  • MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • Must be able to work call and rotating weekend shifts

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID matching candidate documentation
  • Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification of highest degree (minimum high school/GED/college degree)
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (recent within 3 months or appropriate history documentation)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination (required during flu season)
  • Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
  • Photo for badge required
  • Employment application with 7 years of work history and no gaps over 30 days

  • Candidates must be prepared for rotating shifts and call responsibilities
  • Must maintain all required certifications and competencies updated annually
  • Compliance with facility-specific policies and appearance standards is mandatory
