Location: Mooresville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Patient Age Group: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Schedule: Must be willing to work flexible shifts including nights and mids if needed
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW/EOH)
  • On-Call Requirement: Yes (due to low census, PRN)
  • Floating: Yes, within scope of training
  • Orientation: Biweekly

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications (AHA only):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background checks including SSN trace, county checks for past 7 years, sex offender, international (if applicable), EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and education verification as applicable
  • Drug test: Negative 10-panel (including THC) within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Immunizations and health requirements:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years, no exemptions)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (vaccines or positive titers required, no exemptions)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if low/equivocal)
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine (required annually, no exemptions)
    • Polio vaccine or signed attestation
  • References: 2 professional references from employment within last 12 months, at least one supervisor
  • Employment application with 7 years of work history
  • Skills checklist updated annually
  • Competency exam and unit-specific competency checklist (CBO) to be completed within 3 weeks after start
  • Facility-specific online modules to be completed prior to orientation
  • Setup of facility guest account prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must be willing to work flexible shifts and meet weekend and on-call requirements
  • Floating assignments may be required within the scope of training
  • Orientation and training include CPI onsite course if needed
  • Documentation must be current and complete prior to start; candidates cannot start with pending background checks or missing required documents
  • Candidates switching facilities may need to reactivate guest accounts
  • Drug testing and immunization requirements are strictly enforced with no exemptions allowed
