Job Description
Seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to work in an Ambulatory Echo Lab setting. This role involves performing outpatient pediatric echocardiograms.
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer)
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in outpatient pediatric echocardiography
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARDMS PE (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Pediatric Echocardiography)

Required Documentation & Compliance
- Proof of name change if applicable
- Massachusetts CORI release (must be completed within 60 days of start)
- Background check: 10-year criminal background check within 6 months prior to start, including multiple federal and state databases
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Professional certification verification within 30 days prior to start
- State license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Respiratory safety clearance (RespSafety questionnaire and clearance required)
- Two professional references from two of the last three employers
- Employment application with 10-year work history and explanation for gaps over 30 days
- Skills checklist specific to scope of practice within one year prior to start
Required Certifications (Additional)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – required if assignment extends beyond 13 weeks for certain units
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – required for clinical/allied positions
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – preferred for NICU
- Other certifications may be required depending on assignment specifics (e.g., chemotherapy certification for oncology)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within one year of start, cleared to work with no restrictions
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual requirement)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – proof of vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B – series completion or declination form
- Varicella – proof of vaccination or positive titer
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (not required for advanced practice nurses)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption required annually
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption required; seasonal COVID vaccine preferred but not mandatory
Additional Notes
- Onsite parking available with discounted rates; night shift parking is free
- Background checks and fingerprinting processes must be completed and cleared before starting
- Onboarding packet to be completed approximately two weeks prior to assignment start
- Compliance with all facility-specific health and safety protocols is mandatory
