Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Technologist

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift:
    • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM
    • Saturday: 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • On Call/Weekend: No on-call required; weekend shifts are scheduled
  • Float Requirement: Float within the department as per competency
  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Recent Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
  • Valid ARDMS certification
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted)

Additional Requirements

  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least two years of experience within the last three years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including multi-state searches
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (does not include marijuana)
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within the last year, with annual updates if applicable
  • Documentation of immunizations or titers for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
  • N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)

Certifications & Competencies

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, and other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (review unit-specific requirements)
  • Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and other specialty-specific tests may be required

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
  • Local travel radius within 60 miles of the facility
  • Facility-specific orientation and safety training modules must be completed prior to start
  • Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
