Medical Surgical RN

Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Dayton, Ohio.
• 13-week assignment.
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30.
• 36 or 48 hours available; for 48-hour contracts, overtime is paid after 48 hours.
• Unit is a 23-bed Medical Surgical Orthopedic unit with Tele/drips.
• The unit cares for orthopedic patients, including traumatic hip fractures, elective spine surgeries, and other traumatic orthopedic injuries.
• The unit uses team nursing, with RNs, LPNs, and PCTs working together.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
• 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Resuscitation Quality Improvement.
• NIHSS.
• Experience with Epic.
• Current resume/application required.
• 2 references from within 2 years of start are required, with 1 from a Manager, Supervisor, or Charge RN.
• Skills checklist required within 1 year prior to documentation due date and updated annually.

Preferred

• Strong Ortho checklist.
• 1.5 years experience in a level 1 or 2 trauma setting preferred.

Floating / Scheduling

• Traveler will be first to float at discretion.
• May float in and out of specialty clusters and to medically appropriate assignments, including high-risk respiratory unit/COVID.
• If assigned to the main hospital, floating may include the main campus and south campus.
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.
