Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (ED)
Location: Urbana, Illinois

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during assigned shifts using the nursing process and current nursing practices.
- Perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and modify plans based on ongoing evaluation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
- Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Support peer professional development through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Apply nursing procedures and theories specific to Emergency Department care.
- Work collaboratively with providers, patients, and families to develop and adjust care plans.
- Adhere to safety standards and promote a healing work environment.
Shift Details
- Night shift: 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
- 36 hours per week (12-hour shifts)
- 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule (13-hour call shifts; must be onsite within 1 hour)
- 2-week night rotation required for all travelers
- No block scheduling
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Preferred Qualifications
- Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred.
- TNCC certification highly preferred.
