Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame, utilizing the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and resources. Responsibilities include:

Performing patient assessments and developing individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families.
Implementing and modifying nursing interventions and care plans based on continuous evaluation.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Ensuring patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards.
Communicating effectively with staff, patients, families, and visitors to promote a healing environment.
Providing constructive feedback to peers to support professional development.
Identifying personal learning needs and pursuing appropriate solutions.
Fulfilling all departmental competency requirements.

Department-Specific Functions

Applying procedures and theories specific to Emergency Department nursing.
Collaborating closely with healthcare providers and families in patient care planning.
Promoting safety through adherence to standards and proactive hazard management.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

This position requires working 12-hour day shifts.
Contract duration is approximately 13 weeks.
