Location
- Sandy, Utah
Schedule
- 4-10hr days/mids swing shift
- Monday–Saturday: 0700–1730
- Monday–Friday: 1030–2100
- Call: Mon–Sat 2100–700 and Sunday 700–700
- On call is in addition to the 40 hours
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in MRI
- ARRT registered technologist
- Current Utah State Licensure (for positions in Utah) in order to administer RX
- Basic life support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
- Must complete departmental IV certification competency within 3 months of hire
- Must complete the controlled substance module within 6 months of hire, where applicable
- Must complete the initial moderate sedation module within 6 months of hire, where applicable
Preferred Qualifications
- MR registered by ARRT
- 1–2 years of MRI Tech hospital experience
- 6–12 months of acute care experience
- Level 2 Trauma Center experience
Clinical Responsibilities
- Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam
- Performs MRI examinations per department protocol
- Understands cross sectional anatomy and demonstrates anatomical positioning competency
- Critiques own films
- Completes studies within acceptable time limitations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination
- Selects proper scanning techniques and protocols in coordination with the radiologist
- Demonstrates knowledge of protocol relating to contrast administration and may administer intravenous contrast material under supervision
- Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques
- Operates MRI equipment and related information systems
- Views, transfers, archives, and manipulates images
- Troubleshoots the MRI scanner and understands shutdown and startup procedures
- Understands the magnet, cryogens, gradient amplifiers, and relevant computer hardware and software
- Understands the Quench procedure and MRI safety policy, including the FOUR ZONE concept
- Completes required documentation, including time stamps and image storage
- Follows protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, consents, quality documentation, QC program maintenance, and reporting equipment failures or problems
