Job Summary:
Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam. Performs MRI examinations per department protocol while demonstrating proficiency in anatomical positioning and cross-sectional anatomy. Coordinates with radiologists to select proper scanning techniques and protocols, administers intravenous contrast material under supervision, and adheres to infection control and sterile techniques. Operates MRI equipment and related systems to produce quality images, troubleshoots equipment issues, and follows safety protocols including the FOUR ZONE concept and emergency procedures. Completes all required documentation accurately and maintains compliance with medical necessity, coding, and charging protocols.

Required Qualifications:
- One year of experience in MRI
- ARRT registered technologist
- Current Utah State Licensure (for positions in Utah) to administer RX
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
- Meets departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire
- Completes controlled substance module within six months of hire (where applicable)
- Completes initial moderate sedation module within six months of hire (where applicable)

Preferred Qualifications:
- MR registered by ARRT
